Katy Perry is going to space! She’s joining the all-woman crew on one of the Blue Origin ships this spring. That’s Jeff Bezo’s company. I know, it’s hard to keep track of all the billionaires and their space toys.
Gayle King, Oprah’s friend will also be on board. So will Lauren Sanchez, best known for being Bezos’s girlfriend.
They won’t be up there long; just 11 minutes for the entire trip, but they will spend a few minutes in space, weightless.
Two of the other women are super smart NASA type scientists, one of whom will be the first Vietnamese woman in space. Another is a film maker. And all they have to do is enjoy the ride. The New Shepard spacecraft does all the work itself. No pilots needed.
The launch will take place from Texas where Katy will shoot into the sky like a….. firework. Hmmm?
