Do you still use Skype? I had forgotten about it, kind of like I don’t think about My Space anymore. Microsoft is going to shut it down.
When it first came out, I thought I would be talking to far away family every day, face to face on the computer. So, I dropped $70 on an HD camera. I also bought one for my parents. What a waste of money. I knew they lack all ability to adapt to new technology. But, I had hoped against hope that they could do it. Twice. That’s all we talked on Skype. Twice, because…………. Computers are scary or something. I don’t know.
Anyway, Skype 1st came out 20 years ago, but it’s time to say goodbye. They’re pulling the plug in May. However, if you do use it, all your credentials will be transferred to Microsoft Teams.
EBay owned Skype at one point and Microsoft bought it in 2011 for $8.5 billion.
By the way, I still have that $70 camera. It’s here in the studio for Zoom meetings.
