Dolphin divebombs men in boat. Gets ride to shore. Vid here.

When I was in Jamaica a couple of weeks ago, I really kept an eye for dolphins. My goal is to swim with them some in open ocean someday. However, if I were in a boat and a giant dolphin suddenly jumped into the boat too and started flailing about, I might freak out a bit.

During a recent fishing trip in New Zealand, a 900 pound dolphin flew out of the water and into a small boat, almost crushing three guys sitting with their poles.

Yeah, 11 feet long, 900 pounds.

The poor porpoise was waaay too heavy for the guys to pick up and toss back into the water. Not to mention that dolphins are really strong. The men probably would have been tossed into the ocean. In fact, one of the men’s shoulders was injured when the creature came barreling out of the sky.

Yeah, dolphins jump out of the water pretty high.

Luckily, they called shore and professionals were there to help the dolphin get back into the water safely.

Also, they did have a hose on the boat that they sprayed water on the dolphin to keep it comfortable. That seemed to help keep it calm as they raced to shore.

What do you think the dolphin said to its friends when it got back to the pod? “Oh man, guys. I just had the craziest out of water experience! I’m never eating puffer fish again. It got me so high that I landed in a boat with those goofy looking hairless monkeys.”
