A ride at an amusement park in Saudi Arabia snapped in half while a couple dozen people were riding less than 24 hours ago.
It’s a pendulum like ride where people sit on one side. The other side has a counter weight. It swings back and forth, higher and higher in the air. Eventually everyone is upside down.
This thing got to where all the people were a good 20 plus feet in the air, sideways at a 90 degree angle and the bar holding everything between them and the counter weight snapped.
23 people were injured. Luckily, no one was killed.
I won’t go on Ferris Wheels. I do not like heights. I’ll ride roller coasters, but Ferris Wheels take too long and linger way up there. Same thing with chairs at ski resorts. Why are they only attached with the 1 arm?!? Wind makes them swing and it always seems like the cable’s going to break as you roll through those giant wheels that keep things moving.
