Something happened at 1 this morning…… on a dark highway…….. in the middle of nowhere just outside of Kenesaw, Nebraska.
A kangaroo was trying to cross that highway. Yes, I said a kangaroo. Technically, it was a wallaby. But both have super strong legs, pouches, and can box pretty well. Unfortunately, this poor creature couldn’t see cars very well. This poor thing was struck by a car and died. But there was a mystery as to how a wallaby wound up in the middle of Nebraska. And Hastings? I was born there, so I know the most exotic animals there are albino pigeons.
Turns out that the wallaby was somebody’s pet in Kenesaw. It had escaped its enclosure and traveled a few miles before trying to cross a highway. So, I do offer my condolences to the owner. I know it’s hard to lose any pets.
I would also like to see the reaction when the car owner tries to explain what happened to his insurance company. “So, you say you hit a kangaroo in the middle of the night in Nebraska?” “Yes.” “Was there a pink elephant with it?”
