A pizzeria owner in Minnesota is making the news for his kindness. Chris Kolstad bought a shop in Minneapolis a few years ago. One of the first things he noticed was how many people in need were rummaging through his dumpster looking for scraps.
He tried to discourage them. Chris put out signs asking them not to eat from the trash. He even posted on social media pleading for them to stop. But not for the reason most people would assume. His messages also included, “If you are that desperate for food, please come ask. If you are too embarrassed to ask, find a way to call us and ask if there is a way to leave a small cheese pizza outside the back door or something. You don’t even have to see us. Leave me a note and we will find a way to leave any extras or mistakes out back so you have something to eat without going through the trash.”
Chris wanted them to be able to ask for help with dignity. And since, his posts have gone viral and many others have decided to help too, making donations to cover the costs of feeding the needy in his neighborhood. HERE’S A LINK to make donations.
