The original Muppet Show is coming back to celebrate their…… wow…. Um… 50th anniversary. It still seems like 10 or so years ago to me.
Either way, it’s going to be original Muppets with many of the original Muppeteers in the original Muppet theater and one can only hope there will be Pigs In Space.
Sabrina Carpenter is scheduled to be their guest star. Being the 50th anniversary show, I expect other celebrities, but no one is mentioned yet. I do know that Seth Rogen is helping produce this. Maybe he’ll be on.
And if this goes well, we might see more episodes that are like the original which I loved as a small child. I would love to see it again. I couldn’t get into the reboots they came out with in later years.
Seeing Beaker and Gonzo and Fozzi and those giant dancing things…….. all great childhood memories. Also, go back and watch one of the early episodes and compare Miss Piggy back then to Miss Piggy now. There’s a big before and after difference. I’m not saying she went Hollywood, but girl went Hollywood.
The Muppets 50th Anniversary special will be February 4th on ABC.
