In the never ending carousal of new potato chip flavors, Lays has yet two more to start 2026 with: Loaded Baked Potato and Roasted Garlic and Herbs.
You know what they don’t have? The wasabi flavored chips they put out years ago. It even won their big yearlong flavor contest. Then the dumped it within a few months. Those were awesome.
But honestly, between the shrinking bags which have gone from 9 to 11 ounces to 5 to 7 and the increasing price of a bag, I don’t buy chips all that much anymore.
Also, also, you can buy a 5 pound bag of potatoes, cut them into thin slices, season them with these flavors, and fry in olive oil for waaaaay less money. That’s exactly what I did last weekend.
That said, I just found Smoke Gouda Mac and Cheese chips at Aldi the other day. They’re pretty good and more in the bag than Lays for less. Aldi didn’t pay me to say that either. Jenny and I like their chips. She likes their Sweet Potato chips so much that I actually wrapped up a bag and put it under the tree for Christmas.
I will give the new Lays flavors this…….. they’re baked and made with olive oil.
