Dawson’s Escape

As we mentioned this morning on B Mornings with Brooke and Adam, there’s a new action hero in town, and he’s got four legs, a wagging tail, and a nose for adventure. Meet Dawson, the shelter pup who decided that life behind bars wasn’t for him and staged an escape so slick it deserves its own Netflix series.

Here’s the setup: Dawson was dropped off at the Huntington Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter in West Virginia. Most dogs would settle in, maybe chew a toy, take a nap. Not Dawson.

Within 24 hours, he pulled off a jailbreak that would make Houdini proud. First, he broke out of his latched and clipped kennel. Then, he roamed the halls like he owned the place—sniffing other dogs, checking offices, probably looking for snacks. Finally, in the ultimate mic-drop moment, he unlocked the front door with his snout and walked out like, “Thanks for everything, folks!”

The shelter’s security footage shows Dawson in full stealth mode, complete with the Mission: Impossible theme music. Honestly, if he had sunglasses and a tiny leather jacket, this would be the greatest movie trailer of all time.

The only problem? Dawson is still on the run. The shelter and animal control are searching high and low, but so far, he’s living his best life somewhere in rural West Virginia.
