Can your toilet paper give you cancer? The thought would NEVER have crossed my mind, ever, if I hadn’t seen an article today called “5 Toilet Paper Brands Linked To Cancer Risks”.
And here I thought that the worst thing I’d have to worry about this year was more recalled, radioactive food.
According to this article, we should avoid Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper because it has detectable levels of fluorine in it. Although, I wouldn’t get freaked out. Fluorine is an indicator of PFAS compounds. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s full of cancer causing chemicals. Although, those bears in the commercials did look like they had less fur on their bottoms.
It also mentioned a couple of lesser known brands and a couple of bamboo toilet papers that I’ve never seen.
Also, any TP that’s been chlorine bleached or scented. Those are the ones I’d be more concerned about. They have more more chemicals in them including stuff that’s related to formaldehyde…. Which is kind of creepy.
