4 Types of eaters identified and dieting for each in Mayo study.

What type of appetite are you? New research from the Mayo clinic has concluded that there are 4 distinctive types of eaters and knowing which type you are can help you lose weight better.

Type 1 is the “Hungry Brain”. That’s when your body sends more genuine hunger signals making you hungry more often than other people.

Type 2 is “Hungry Gut”. This type of eater doesn’t listen to the fullness cues that their body is sending that normally get people to stop eating.

Type 3 is an “Emotional Eater”.  These are people that eat to soothe feelings like stress or loneliness. Your reward centers in the brain have been hijacked by sugar and processed foods.

Type 4 is categorized as the “Slow Burner”. These are folks with a slow metabolism.

The researchers say that no matter what type you are, you can stop impulsive snacking by asking yourself, “Why am I really hungry, food or feeling?” They mention other more specific tips per each eating type, but it’d take too long on the radio.
