Lincoln Police say a 60 year old woman shoplifted more than $600 worth of clothing from the Costco on Pine Lake Road between March 8 and September 7.
Officer Erin Spilker says police were called to the store around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon on a report of shoplifting. “It looks like what she does is take an item, remove the packaging, conceal it and then checks out with other items .”
She was contacted by employees and detained for police. A loss prevention employee said he recognized the woman and she had been in the store several times before and was responsible for shoplifting items. Spilker says the employee retrieved video from 19 previous incidents between March 8 and September 7.
LPD said the woman stole a variety of items, including joggers, shorts, shirts, dresses and a rain coat. The total amount of the items was more than $641. Costco was able to track the stolen items through the woman’s Costco membership and matched up the security video with the days when she shopped.
Spilker says the woman was arrested, then cited and released. She’s facing misdemeanor shoplifting charges.
