Lincoln Man Arrested After Screwdriver Stabbing Incident

By Chase Porter Mar 30, 2026 | 11:41 AM

A Lincoln man was arrested this weekend after allegedly stabbing a woman with a screwdriver in central Lincoln.

Officers with the Lincoln Police Department were called to an apartment near S. 12th and G Streets just before 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, on a report involving a weapon.

When police arrived, LPD spokeswoman Erika Thomas says they learned that Ruben Calderon, 34, of Lincoln, had stabbed a woman known to him with a screwdriver in the arm during an argument in a vehicle. The stabbing caused a puncture wound approximately 2cm deep, Thomas said.

At this time, police said Calderon fled into a nearby apartment, where he was taken into custody during a search warrant nearly two hours later. Thomas said Calderon “actively resisted five different officers as they attempted to arrest him.”

He was ultimately placed in handcuffs and officers recovered a screwdriver from the scene. Calderon was booked into Lancaster County jail for 2nd degree domestic assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and resisting arrest.
