By Tom Stanton Apr 24, 2026 | 11:58 AM

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 24-year-old man Thursday night after he barricaded himself in a house in south Lincoln.  Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says the department’s tactical response unit was called to a home near 70th and Pioneers Blvd around 7:00 p.m.

He says Justin Ladig barricaded himself in an attic and was believed to possibly be armed. Deputies made contact with Ladig shortly after 8 p.m. and a negotiator was able to convince Ladig to come out safely. No weapons were found.

Houchin says the situation stemmed from an incident the night before. “Where Ladig was involved in a pursuit near 84th and Highway 6. Deputies contacted him at the U-Stop, he refused to get out the car and eventually took off.”

Houchin says Ladig eventually turned off the headlights and continued at a high rate of speed. “It was ended at 134th and Fletcher.  We knew who he was so we terminated the pursuit.”  Ladig was taken into custody and arrested for fleeing arrest and obstructing a peace officer.

He also faces a misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas County and a felony warrant of of Council Bluffs, Iowa related to alleged grooming and the dissemination of obscene materials to a minor. No injuries were reported during the standoff.
