A new BikeLNK station will be coming to Holmes Lake Park, the city announced Wednesday.

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities and ROAM Share, the nonprofit which operates BikeLNK, said the new station at 70th and Normal Boulevard will expand access to the city’s bike share system and offer a convenient option near one of the city’s most popular parks.

“A Holmes Lake Park station has been a goal of the BikeLNK team since the program’s start in 2018,” said Hunter Arias, BikeLNK City Manager. “The lake’s scenic trail loop is popular among Lincolnites and intersects with the Billy Wolff Trail, connecting riders with the rest of the BikeLNK system. E-bikes are a joy for all ages and will greatly enhance the park’s recreational opportunities.”

The Holmes Lake Park station features 10 docks on the north side of the park near the playground, adjacent to Parking Lot 4. Users can access both classic and electric bicycles at the new location. The park station uses docks previously located at 11th and “K” streets.
