LES to Host Public Meeting on Solar Study Results

By Tom Stanton Apr 30, 2026 | 10:39 AM

Lincoln Electric System is inviting customers and community members to learn more about how customer-owned solar energy impacts the local power grid. A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kevin Wailes Operations Center, located at 9445 Rokeby Road.

During the session, LES staff will present results from the utility’s Value of Solar study, explain how solar energy generated by customers is evaluated, and answer questions from attendees. The study looks at the financial benefits of distributed solar energy and helps determine fair compensation rates, ensuring costs aren’t shifted to customers without solar systems.

Officials will also discuss how increased solar generation can reduce daytime energy purchases and support the electric system over time. No registration required and those unable to attend in person can participate online.  You can more details by clicking here.
