Omaha quarantine patient’s first tornado warning experience!

By Austin Michael May 18, 2026 | 4:01 PM

One of the Hantavirus patients in Omaha is a “Travel Blogger” from Florida named Jake Rosmarin. He’s decided he’s going to do daily blogs from quarantine. Yesterday was his 1st ever tornado warning.

He posted a short video with the caption, “POV: When you’re experiencing your first Midwest tornado and are told to close the blinds.”

He was trying to look out the window and a nurse gently scolded him. He also got lots of advice about it in the comments section. Things like, “Food tray, pillow and blanket in the shower.” Also, Remember to keep your shoes on” to which Jake replied, “Keep your shoes on? I’m from Florida. Can you enlighten me?” One of my favorites was about watching the TV where someone wrote, “Don’t even start to panic unless the weatherman rolls up his sleeves”. Then someone replied with  a picture of Bill Rambly, weatherman from KETV, with his sleeves rolled up. Ha!

Jake, if you’re listening, buckle up for tonight too.
