Registration Underway For Annual Great Plains Trail Trek

By Tom Stanton Jun 2, 2026 | 12:26 PM

Registration is underway for one of Lincoln’s most popular cycling events of the summer. The Great Plains Trails Network’s annual Trail Trek returns Sunday, June 28th, offering riders of all ages and skill levels a chance to explore Lincoln’s extensive trail system.

The event will begin at Lincoln East High School near 70th and A Streets and features five route options ranging from 9 to 48 miles. Organizers say the ride is designed to accommodate everyone from families with young children to experienced cyclists looking for a longer challenge.

Depending on the length of the ride participants will have different drink and food options along the way.  Trail Trek serves as a fundraiser for the Great Plains Trails Network, a nonprofit organization that supports trail development and advocacy throughout Lincoln and Lancaster County.

The event has become a longtime community tradition that helps promote healthy recreation while showcasing the city’s more than 180 miles of trails.  The registration fee is $30 for adults and $10 for students.  Click here to register.
