By Tom Stanton Jun 18, 2026 | 10:59 AM

Lincoln Parks and Recreation is inviting residents to celebrate Go Skate Day on Sunday, June 21, at the new skatepark at Canopy Yard near 7th and N streets. The new facility features street and transition elements, open skating areas, and spaces designed for skateboarders, scooter riders, and other wheeled recreation enthusiasts of all skill levels.

“Go Skate Day is a great opportunity for people to come together, celebrate Lincoln’s rollersports community, and have fun outdoors,” says Maggie Stuckey-Ross, Lincoln Parks and Recreation Director. “We’re excited to welcome residents to experience the new Canopy Yard skatepark and the opportunities it offers for creativity and active recreation.”

Go Skate Day is free, open to all ages, and no registration is required. The Canopy Yard skatepark joins Lincoln’s other skate facilities at Peter Pan Park and Tierra Park. For more information, contact Lincoln Parks and Recreation.
