By Tom Stanton Jul 13, 2026 | 12:24 PM

Gov. Jim Pillen has ordered that all U.S. and Nebraska flags be flown at half-staff immediately to honor Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Graham died Saturday at the age of 71 from an aorta tear.

Nebraska U-S Senator Pete Ricketts reacted to the death Graham during an interview on  Fox News ‘The Sunday Briefing”.  “We have lost the meaning of the word Patriot with Lindsey,” Ricketts said.

“He was just so dedicated to this country, to South Carolina, to the U-S Senate, to freedom. I’m at a loss.  He’s a personal friend, I loved the man and we’re going to miss him greatly.”  Flags are to be flown at half-staff until 6 p.m. this Saturday.
