Val Kilmer had signed on to be in the movie “As Deep As The Grave” shortly before he passed away. So, the film makers decided to finish it with an AI version of Val Kilmer and his estate’s to do it.
They just released a 7 minute clip of the film. Kind of impressive. The voice isn’t really what he sounds like, but they put a lot of work into getting his face right. There are spots where you can kind of tell, but there are also very, very detailed shots that make you a bit scared of how good AI is getting at pretending to be real. More impressive is the fact that it’s an independent film with a low budget. They said the software to do it only cost a few thousand dollars. Here’s that clip.
