Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two theft cases. LPD Forensic Video Technician Becky Keller says a woman reported her wallet stolen July 12th while she was cleaning her car at a car wash near 48th and Leighton around 5 p.m.
“Cameras at the car wash captured a white male in a green t-shirt at the coin machine,” Keller says. “He takes notice of the belongings and is observed on camera grabbing the wallet from her belongings, looking through it, and then leaving with it.” Check out the video of the theft below.
In a separate case, police are investigating the theft of a red Yamaha dirt bike from a porch near 32nd and Center streets overnight September 2nd. Keller says the suspect left behind a black e-bike that had also been reported stolen near 16th and ‘E’ Street two days prior.
“While the officer was processing the recovered e-bike for fingerprints, the victim of the stolen dirt bike reported he saw a male pushing his stolen dirt bike through Fleming Fields on 33rd and Leighton,” Keller says.
“Officers were unable to locate the person responsible, but thankfully the bike would later be recovered just blocks away.” Keller says the victim was able to snag some photos of the person with his bike. Both bikes have been recovered.
