I think there’s something we can all agree on…we all love Betty White. I’m not even going to lie that I actually cried when I heard that she passed away on Friday. It felt like losing someone I actually knew. Betty died at the age of 99 and just weeks before her 100th birthday. As they should, there have been gazillions of tributes on social media to her. My absolute favorite has been from Ryan Reynolds because he sums up how I feel about her passing away and he included something she has said before in interviews that her mother told her. That when you pass away it’s ok because now you know “the secret.”
The world looks different now. She was great at defying expectation. She managed to grow very old and somehow, not old enough. We’ll miss you, Betty. Now you know the secret. pic.twitter.com/uevwerjobS

Carol Burnett also paid tribute to Betty:
I loved Betty very, very much. The world has lost one in a million pic.twitter.com/rPIWIrR8ef

Here’s a great scene from Golden Girls, one of my FAVORITE tv shows, of Rose telling Dorothy and Blanche a ridiculous story…
Most will remember her as Betty White but every Saturday night back in the 80s I knew her as Rose Nylund from St. Olaf, Minnesota
I love this scene because Beatrice Arthur and Rue McClanahan couldn’t stop laughing

And finally, Katie Couric did an interview with Betty for her 89th birthday in which she touched on many topics including her favorite parts to play (which was NOT Rose Nylund), her amazing career, her love of animals, the love of her life Allen Ludden, and what her mother told her about “the secret.”

She was a trailblazer, a legend, a lover of people and animals and my favorite Golden Girl. She was 99 and yet somehow still gone too soon. Rest in Peace, Betty White.
