The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant on a home in the center of a theft investigation last weekend on 84th Street in Lincoln and in Waverly.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says the warrant was served Thursday and they recovered items from about 40 cases under investigation.
Among the items that were recovered were the cremated ashes of two dogs in urns. Three urns had been taken from a vehicle in the 84th Street string of thefts. Other items include a rifle bag and a defibrillator from earlier thefts.
A woman who rents the apartment is currently in jail in Douglas County. She told deputies she does not know the suspects, Michael Rengstorf and Matthew Krisel. Both are facing theft and other charges.
