I’ve never played Wordle. But maybe I should since it could save my life like it did for 80 year old Denyse Holt. Denise plays every morning and then sends her daughter a text with the answers. Every day. Like clockwork. That changed when a naked man broke into her apartment on February 5th. This nut job broke through the window, cutting himself up, and then grabbed a couple of knives. Then, all bloody, he trapped her in the basement bathroom for 17 hours. Even if she had got out of the bathroom, he’d cut the phone lines.
But, because Denyse hadn’t sent them Wordle answers to her daughter, she got worried, called the police, and sent them over to do a wellness check. Police finally apprehended the weirdo after a standoff with the swat team.
It was such a tense situation that Denyse says she didn’t think she was going to make it. Fortunately, she came out of it…. today’s five letter word…“alive”.
