A guy that goes by Simon Jackson on Tik Tok protested his salary by moving into his cubicle at work. He literally left his Seattle apartment, that he said he couldn’t afford anymore, and put his belongings into his huge cubicle. He videotaped himself doing it and of his experience there and put it all on Tik Tok…….. which his employer caught wind of and then fired him four days into it. He doesn’t seem too broken up about it. He said that this will give him chance to get away from the corporate world and concentrate on his brand.
I love how everyone thinks they can have a personal brand these days. Trust me, Simon’s brand is always going to be “Protesting guy who sleeps in unusual places”. He’s not going to escape that. He should embrace it and video himself moving into places like a shed behind a hospital to protest the cost of healthcare.
Anyway, his rent for one bedroom was $1,500 a month when this happened. I’d think about moving into a cubicle too.
