I just had my 6 month teeth cleaning and my dentist got my name wrong. Austin isn’t my real name. My real name sounds like a couple of other names and he called me by one of the sound alikes.
He’s been my dentist for 7 years now.
To be fair, for the cleanings, he has one of his helper dentists o the majority of the work and then he inspects it at the end. We usually have some catch up conversation during which……… he got my name wrong……. Again. In 7 years, I think he’s only gotten it right once or twice and that was 4 years ago. After a couple of times, I decided not to correct him anymore. So, I’m partially to blame…… for him not know my name for 7 years. Maybe, next time, I’ll make up a story where I’m attending a convention and I’ll wear a fake name tag. It’d be even funnier if the name on the tag wasn’t even close to sounding like or being my real name. I’d love to see the look on his face at that point.
