Patricia Banks was once a woman who dreaded dealing with car problems. She says she always felt she needed a guy whenever it came to her car. So, she took control by going back to school to learn how to fix cars. Then, she opened her own mechanic shop, with mostly female employees, in 2017 called Girls Auto Clinic in Philadelphia.
It’s not the usual car repair shop. There’s an onsite salon with manicures and pedicures.
Not only that. They host monthly sessions to teach people how to check and maintain their vehicles. Patricia says, “Girls Auto Clinic is committed to creating a unique, comfortable, and confident automotive repair experience for women.” It’s done so well, she’s working on franchising.
