You know that giant statue of Jesus in Rio, the one with his arms out? It’s been featured in a ton of movies. It has has competition. A little town called Encantado has built their own, bigger, giant Jesus. Rio’s is 125 feet tall. Encantado’s is 141 making it the biggest Jesus in the world. They look almost exactly alike with their arms spread wide. The robes are a bit different though. Encantado built the newer, bigger Jesus in order to draw more tourists.
Because, you know, JC was all about, “Bring unto me your poor, the sick, and all those tourists with spending money.”
The new giant Jesus will be ready to go in 2023 and will let visitors inside of the statue. It’s got a heart shaped window in the middle of its chest that you can look out of. It’s up on a hill overlooking the town and a broad vista of trees and nature, so it’ll have a pretty good view.
