Here’s the headline I saw earlier, “Family pet lost for 30 years found in attic alive”. The first thing you think when “pet” is mentioned is dog or cat. But then you think, they don’t live that long. What king of pet lives that long? Parrot was the first thing that I thought of. But I guarantee you would have heard that in the attic. What then? A turtle, that’s what. This family lost their tortoise back in the 80s. Someone left a door open and he disappeared and that was that. Then, recently, the father died and the kids, now adults, went in to clean the place up. There the little guy was in the attic. Which then begs the question how did he stay alive? They think he ate beetle larvae and insects. Also, tortoises can live 6 months to 3 years without eating. And, they can live 50 to 150 years.

The family was overjoyed to see him again.
