There’s an update on that former gas station manager that accidentally set a pump to sell gas for 69 cents. He had set up a Go Fund Me page to pay the station back for lost revenue. He even raised $24,000 which is about ten thousand more than the station says it lost. Buuuuut, the company that owns the gas station won’t take the money. A letter that they sent to him says that, to be clear, they have never asked for repayment nor do they intend to go after him legally. They go on to say that the money should be returned to the donors or sent to a charity.
He was worried they were going to sue him. That was the main reason he raised the money to pay them. Did they have some kind of insurance that covered it? Or, maybe they get a big tax write off. He’s still looking for a new job after they fired him. He seems to be really good at putting decimals in the wrong places. I was thinking he might be good at laundering money for the mob. Or maybe Trump will hire him to write up property valuations.
