News in a recent issue of “Hypertension”, which is an American Heart Association Journal, is that too much napping is a sign that you should be worried about your health. Looking at a large study, they found that people who took naps almost every day saw a 24% increase in chances of having a stroke. They were also 12% more like to be diagnosed with hypertension over time.
From the way I understand the report, it’s not about people who enjoy cat napping for the joy of it. This relates more to people who might be tired throughout the day and kind of crash nap because of some underlying issue like apnea or excessive drinking throughout the week. It could even be caused by what you’re eating and when you eat. So, the napping is probably more of a warning sign.
