Sports help your kids succeed now and later in life. A recent Ohio State University study questioned thousands of adults about their lives and whether they participated in sports as kids. The study found that playing sports at school makes people “grittier” and harder working, boosts the chances of achieving long-term goals, and having successful careers. They actually came up with a “grit” scale to determine how hard working participants are after being in organize sports. 34% of the people who were in sports as a kid scored higher on that “grit” scale. 23% of the adults that started out in sports, but dropped out scored high. And only 17% of the people that never played sports scored high. So, twice as many who played scored high than those who didn’t at all.
