There’s a new documentary on Hulu called, “TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened To Richard Simmons”. I wasn’t interested because, well, leave the poor man alone. But now that he supposedly responded, I kind of am. He supposedly got on Facebook and wrote, “Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and love! Love, Richard!”
Bu he hasn’t appeared in public and nobody has really seen him in 8 years. That got me and most everyone suspicious that it wasn’t really Richard. His manager said that it’s a real post from the real Richard Simmons. But that’s what the manager is supposed to say. Unless he’s hiding from technology, he could have shot a 10 second video and put the whole thing to rest.
I looked up some of the kooky theories about Richard. His former assistant claimed that Richard was being held captive by his housekeeper. The National Enquirer claimed he had a sex change operation. They got sued for that. Some people think that a knee surgery got him addicted to pain meds. Another theory is that his favorite dog died and he’s been depressed ever since. I’m sure it’s all covered on the documentary which you can catch free on TUBI starting tonight.
