A Lincoln teacher was honored in a MAJOR way

Have your tissues handy, because this story is going to make you happy cry.

Earlier this week, Ada Robinson Elementary opened its doors for the very first time in northeast Lincoln.  And to welcome the students on their first day was the namesake of the school, Ada Robinson.

With her family, Ada greeted and the hugged the students.  And was reunited with a former student who now teaches at the new school.

Prior to the new school opening its doors Ada was a teacher at Clinton Elementary.  During her 30 year tenure, she taught Kindergarten as well as first, second, third, fifth, and sixth grades.  Incredible!

The next part of this story was my tissue moment . . . because at 83 years-old, Ada has Alzheimer’s.  But despite the disease, Ada and her family were able to celebrate Ada’s legacy at the brand new elementary school . . . which will be celebrated and remembered for many more generations to come.
