Bracelet calls police, gives GPS if woman is attacked.

A man in France has developed a bracelet that contacts authorities and friends if a woman is being attacked. He began working on it a few years ago when his girlfriend was raped while he was waiting for her to get home. There’s a button on the bracelet. Once it’s pushed, the police are called and given your exact location with GPS. It also immediately calls 6 other phone numbers with alerts. The guy who came up with the bracelet doesn’t seem to be in it for the money. He’s looking to build education and support programs for women who have been attacked and to help women safeguard against attacks.

I went to the website. It has a pre-order option. I think they’re still trying to raise capital to mass produce the bracelets. They have a Kickstarter page too. I was thinking of getting one for Jenny for Christmas. It has to be shipped overseas and costs 149 Francs. That’s only about $23. I’ll have her take a look at the styles. There’s a lot of different colors too.
