Spidee is coming to Disney

By Austin Michael Apr 22, 2021 | 7:20 PM

Up until now, you could watch all the Avengers, Thor, and the other related Marvel movies on Disney+ EXCEPT the Spiderman ones. It’s been a big quagmire of legal rights and money and blah- dee, blah, blah for years. Finally, Disney has signed a deal with Sony and will be showing the Tom Holland films on Disney+. That’s the two already made and the new one that’s coming out in December. From what I understand though, Disney doesn’t get them first. It looks like Sony made a deal with Netflix that lets Netflix air them before anyone else. Although, that might just be movies that come out between 2022 and 2026.

The deal also gives Disney the ability to show a bunch of other Sony movies including Jumanji, Hotel Transylvania, and many others. They might not all run on Disney+ though. The deal lets Disney stream them across Hulu and all their other properties including ABC. I can’t find any dates for any of these though.

Between Disney and Netflix, it’s estimated that Sony is raking in $3 billion.
