When you accidentally FIX something.

Have you ever accidentally fixed something?

Our fridge’s freezer has been building up a sheet of ice on the bottom the past week because the reservoir and a tube that drains moisture from the freezer to a pan at the bottom of the fridge had frozen up. I took about half of the fridge apart to make sure that was actually the problem and to let it defrost. There were pieces lying all over the counters and floor in the kitchen.

Including the ice maker that had quit working a year ago.

I cleared the ice, put everything back together, and everything was working again.

Including the ice maker that had gone belly up a year ago.

When it had quit working, I took it apart, ran a voltmeter on everything, and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. So we bought ice cube trays.

Half an hour after I put everything back together, not even thinking about the ice maker, it made a bunch of ice. And still is.

And to think Jenny had suggested that I call a repairman before I did anything.
