Sisterhood Of The Traveling Wedding Dress

By Austin Michael Apr 29, 2021 | 7:14 PM

I think women should be able to do more with their wedding dresses instead of wearing them once. Sara Blakely, the inventor of Spanx thinks so too. She got on Instagram and posted that women who had to postpone their weddings due to Covid can borrow her dress. This all started when a friend was having problems finding a dress. So Sara loaned hers to her. Then Sara loaned it out again to a woman she met on a hiking trail. The woman had merely mentioned she was newly engaged and Sara immediately asked if she wanted to use her dress.

And from there, it’s become the sisterhood of traveling wedding dresses.

And actually, Sara isn’t the only one doing this. I found a story about a woman in Minneapolis who is doing the same thing and inspired other women too. In fact, there’s a Facebook Group devoted to sharing their wedding dresses. There’s pictures and contact info and everything.

Here’s that page’s link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3244057875644165/
