Assistance in paying for internet.

By Austin Michael May 5, 2021 | 7:00 PM

Starting next week, $50 per month discounts on internet bills will be available to certain people around the country. It’s part of the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program that Congress passed.  You qualify if you are on Medicaid or SNAP. You also qualify if you’ve qualified for the Lifeline Program. Also, any household with income at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines is eligible, as are those in the free and reduced-price school lunch program and school breakfast program. Also eligible: those who had a substantial loss of income since Feb. 29, 2020 and are at or below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers. Sign up for the broadband discounts begins May 12. Here’s the website to do it at: https://getemergencybroadband.org/

Although, double check with your provider to see if they’re participating and whether or not they can sign you up sooner. I’ve read a couple of companies are doing that.
