Pranksters Fill Retirement Home Fountain With Soap

By Tom Stanton Jun 2, 2021 | 1:43 PM

Pranksters have targeted the Legacy Retirement Homes fountain at 56th and Pioneers.  Marketing and PR Director Kelly Stenka tells KLIN news the fountain was filled with soap on Tuesday morning and that created a mountain of suds.

“As the day went on it continued to get bigger and bigger until our maintenance team got in for the morning to put some chemicals in there to get it to calm down a little bit.”  Stenka says this is not the first time this has happened.  “This is actually the third time it has happened this year alone.  It has been an ongoing issue for quite a few years.”

Last fall they had to turn their fountain off early because of the soapy mess.  Stenka says while it is a harmless prank the clean up does take a lot of time away from maintenance workers who could be addressing the needs of residents.   As for the pranksters, “find something new, get more creative, but not with us.”
