Saturday will mark the re-opening of the popular Lied Platte River bridge and MoPac Trail that was damaged by the 2019 flood.
The former railroad bridge was converted to pedestrian and bike access in 2001 and is the only crossing along the Platte that connects Omaha and Lincoln along the MoPac Trail.
A number of bicyclists will be joining the celebration as the ribbon is cut at 11:00 a.m. at the trailhead parking lot on Highway 31 in Sarpy County and 328th Street in Cass County.
