A heads up for pet owners around the fourth of July, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center sees an increase in calls about pets who have eaten fireworks every year around the 4th. Obviously keep everything stored where pets can’t get to them. You can also help by cleaning up the mess after setting them off. There is still gunpowder residue in the paper and other toxic stuff that can hurt your or other people’s pets.
Many pets also don’t like the noise. ASPCA recommends playing some soft music while fireworks are being used and moving the pets to a more interior room of your home.
