Legendary marketer and inventor Ron Popeil has passed away.
I mentioned this to Jill and she didn’t recognize his name, making me feel waaay older than I need to. She did recognize his products like Mr. Microphone. An argument could be made that the Mr. Microphone commercials in the 70s, when I was about 5, might have had something to do with my career path. Ron also put out the Veg O Matic and Pocket Fisherman. He’s also the guy that made “But wait, there’s more” famous.
He passed away Cedars Sinai Wednesday.
