The original Avengers were almost all killed in the last movie. That’s how studio President Kevin Feige wanted to play it. Luckily, the directors convinced him that would be a bad idea. They pointed out that the fans might get upset about ALL of the heroes dying and that having different endings for each would play out better. Like the idea of Captain America getting to go back in time and live out his days with the woman he loves……. Which almost didn’t happen because even if they all didn’t die, the ending almost ended up being BOTH Tony Stark and Captain America passing away after fighting Thanos.
