This morning on the Brooke and Bic morning show, we started off like we always do with “Good News” at 6:10. We mentioned this amazing story about John Russo.
In 2014 John Russo was battling throat cancer and he told his girlfriend, Toni Alessio, that if he beat the cancer he would celebrate in epic style, a gorgeous Christmas light display for the entire neighborhood to enjoy. In 2015, John beat his cancer and followed through on his promise. From that year forward it has become an annual tradition.
This year, the display even more epic than the first, includes inflatables, lights all set to a computerized 40 minute, 15 song holiday playlist. (If you are like me as much as you enjoy this, the grown up in you says “how much does that cost?” John said it adds an extra $200 to his monthly bill.)
The show has set hours, “Lights on Lozier Ct” runs seven days a week from 5p-10p, Sun-Thurs and 5p-11p, Fri and Sat. This year festive visitors can even show their generous side as the local NJPD has joined in and placed a toy drive drop box outside the residence.
John, 66, says it can be a bit aggravating to set up but in the end it’s more than worth it.
