Lays, which is well known for their potato chips, have decided they can do something else with potatoes……. Make vodka.
It’s different from other vodkas because they use Lay’s proprietary potatoes. Yes, Lays has a certain type of potato that their company has the rights to and only they can use. Frito Lay had scientists create a specific seed that they use for their chips.
The news release from Lays says that they want to deliver “new and innovative ways to bring joy and fun” to people. I will say this, the packaging that the bottles come in looks cool. But why are they doing this? They’re totally jumping in on the trend of specialty, limited edition products that people have gone crazy for this year like Arby’s Curly Fry Vodka last month. There was also Grey Poupon’s wine that came out in October and sold out in just one day. I couldn’t find info on how limited the Lay’s Vodka is.
