The city of Akron, Ohio had an entire bridge get stolen. Not a small one either. It’s 58 feet long and made out of steel beams. It’s one of those old time, train crossing type bridges. The city has no idea where it went. They found vehicle tracks in a field near where the bridge was, but that’s the only clue.
And actually, it wasn’t being used as a bridge at the time. The whole thing was being stored in a field. All the thieves had to do was drive up and take it apart like Legos. It might have been pointless though. Authorities say the metal can’t be recycled. So, basically it can be torn apart and the beams used for something else or the crooks can put out an advertisement saying that they have a bridge they want to sell you.
