Carol and Chuck Bauer have a very unique and fun looking couple’s activity that they do when it gets really cold. They fill water guns with hot water, step outside, then have a duel with the water guns. They start back to back, just like in the old timey movies, step ten paces, then turn and fire. Neither one ever really gets hit. Because it’s so cold at their Minnesota home with wind chills around -30 and temperatures getting near that low, the hot water instantly turns into steam as it leaves the water guns. Then it falls as snow. The Bauers are my kind of people.
I had a morning show in Duluth years ago. One morning it was 20 below so we decided to fill up some water balloons and play catch with them outside. Luckily, none broke, much to my co-host’s chagrin.
