Did we know dogs can smell Covid 19? I feel like there was a story a year ago about sheep dogs in Iceland or something that they were training to do this. Either way, dogs can smell Covid 19 and officials in Boston are using them in schools. They’ve got a couple of Labradors that are visiting schools in three different districts. From what I can gather, it’s more of a demonstration. They’re going to have the dogs smell surfaces to see what needs to be cleaned. It’s not like they’re going to have all the kids line up in rows while they walk up and down while having the dogs sniff each kid. That’d be like some movie about Nazis where they’re trying to find the spy, “Vee know vun oof you eez lying. Zee gogs vill sniff you. Zee dogs nose vill know!”
No, nothing like that.
The dogs, trained in a special program in Florida, can smell any variant of Covid. They’re the first two Covid Sniffing Police Dogs in the country.
